This short course is a fantastic way to develop skills and techniques, giving you the luxury of dedicated time to explore watercolour; all in the lovely gallery space at Heritage Courtyard, in the beautiful city of Wells. Louise will share her experience as a painter and teacher to support you through experimentation and the introduction of new techniques, as you create a series of exploratory works and examples that you can take away to inform further pieces.
This course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience, who would like to develop their work and gain a better understanding of watercolour painting.
There will be demonstrations, time for painting, drawing and experimenting with a focus for each day.
Day 1 - An introduction to watercolour including; colour mixing; brushes and tools; paper and surfaces.
Day 2 - Composition and scale
Day 3 - From sketch to painting
Paper is included. Paints and brushes will be available but please do feel free to bring your own if you have them. There will also be a selection of brushes and equipment, used during the three days, available to buy.
