Join Maxine for a relaxed and informal creative workshop in the heart of Wells Heritage Courtyard Studios - where you will make a Christmas wreath covered in ivy and 'fluffy pom-poms' ready to take home and proud display.
You will bet using a pre-made willow base (Made from Somerset willow) which we will then cover in ivy, and because everybody's styles and tastes are different, you can choose between making a completely natural wreath using Exmoor Horn or Dorset Horn wool, or if you would like a bit more colour, then you could use some dyed British wools, Shetland or Blue Faced Leicester.
Now for a couple of bits of important information: firstly, there is a flight of stairs to the workshop space; secondly, all the materials and equipment (with the exception of gardening gloves and an apron) will be provided; both the ivy and the willow can cause allergic reactions or irritation if you are prone to this or worried about it, then please wear gardening gloves for protection; and we shouldn’t get too messy, but if you are worried about your clothes, then please bring an apron (I will probably wear one!). Thirdly, tea and coffee and some nice biccies will be provided; if you have any allergies, then please let me know in advance.
At the end of the workshop, you will have a beautiful Christmas wreath to proudly take home, plus if we have any spare time, then we shall make the odd ‘fluffy bauble’ or two.
Schedule:
Arrival from 9.40 am for a 10 am start
Lunch break: around 1pm for one hour; you are welcome to bring your own lunch or explore some of the many cafés, pubs, and restaurants nearby.
Workshop ends at approximately 4pm.
