Rebecca offers a wealth of practical experience working in oils and mixed media and is committed to supporting you in developing your confidence, knowledge and skills. She is a practising artist, exhibiting regularly in London and around the country and has an MA (Fine Art) from Falmouth School of Art.

Oil painting for beginners

This is a
fun, one session taster which will cover all the basic principles, tools and techniques to enable you to experiment and gain confidence with this classic and beautiful medium.
You will learn traditional methods and the importance of tonal values, contrast and a limited palette.
(Materials supplied but if you have oil paints or oil brushes, please feel free to bring them. You will receive an information sheet before the day).

Informal oil painting days

Working from a Still Life in the Studio or a photograph of your choice, paint at your own pace and in your own style, with guidance and advice from Rebecca.
Think about how you approach your subject, observation, palette, harmony, contrast.
Some painting experience is useful. There will also be cold wax available for those who wish to try it.

My bespoke 1-to-1 oil painting sessions are relaxed, friendly, and tailored entirely to you. Whether you’re a complete beginner, feeling a little rusty, or simply want some focused creative time, I’ll meet you at your level and guide you at your pace.
In an informal, supportive setting, you’ll learn practical skills, explore techniques, and build confidence with oils - all without pressure or perfectionism. These sessions are about enjoying the process, growing your skills, and reconnecting with your creativity.
