Sian takes inspiration in everything, always drawing on personal experiences and trusting the creative and emotional process. She believes the past is always with us; her work influenced by her environment, memory, the passing of time, or a particular time.
Sian‘s work incorporates objects which reinforce her message, drawing attention to their presence rather than their function. Sian explores the relationship between experiences and emotions, the natural environment and the reliance on everyday objects. She reflects on the connection with everyday objects; all of which in some form, or at some point, having been touched by human hand. Objects with reference to a time and space; overlooked, discarded or simply taken for granted. Having said this, Sian believes she has to let things go; for nothing is permanent. Sian’s work embraces the fragile and the strong and the completeness that is achieved when both are successfully brought together.
