Sonya holds an MFA (Ceramics) from Bath Spa University and has been a professional potter for the last 10 years selling her work at national shows and select galleries across the UK. She is passionate about the wellbeing benefits of working with clay and using nature as her inspiration and would like to share this passion with you…

TWO DAY CERAMICS WORKSHOP
NOW 14TH AND 21ST MARCH 2026

An immersive workshop designed to teach you fundamental skills in hand building with clay, using real leaf imprints, glazing and attuning to the wellbeing power of nature.

Day 1: 14th March 2026 10-4pm

Foraging & Making

We will start by foraging locally sourced leaves, making the leaf platter using your chosen leaf as an imprint. This will include instruction on hand-building with clay and making a twisted vine handle for your platter.

Sonya will then bisque fire your platter in her kiln, in readiness for the next workshop day.

Day 2: 21st March 2026 10-4pm

Decorating & Glazing

Day two will see you choosing from a selection of glazes and you'll decorate your leaf platter with copper oxide to enhance the vein patterns in your leaf imprint.

Total Price for 2 Days £125 per person

WATCH SONYA'S VIDEO ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

This is no ordinary workshop, Sonya will guide you through the processes of making, but we will also forage leaves in nature, benefit from nourishing meditations and you will learn how to entrain postive wellbeing energy into the clay you use...

Truly blending the healing power of nature, grounding energy of clay and wellbeing aspects of creativity together...

Split into two separate workshop days to allow firing time in between, you will end up taking home a leaf platter just like the ones pictured above. Alternatively, I will also provide a pond lily leaf press mould so you can re-create my famous 'Pond Lily Leaf Dish', used by head chef, Niall Keating, on BBC2's The Great British Menu.

You will have the option to bring or forage your own leaves, and I will bring a selection too...even beautiful fig leaves and sycamore leaves. This is going to be really special...

Coffee and tea are provided, you can bring lunch or use the cafe next door.
