Heather Wallace

Heather is the founder of Heritage Courtyard Gallery and Studios and offers a wealth of experience in both teaching and practicing fine art over many years.  Her workshops are informal, encouraging and her gentle instruction is a real boost for students of all abilities.

Paints and brushes provided.

Do you want to loosen up your brushstrokes?

Do you long to paint in bold bright colours?

Then this is the class for you!

In a similar vain to her summer workshop, Heather will demonstrate how to create a bold expressive painting on a big canvas using large brushes and bold marks.

 

By referring to the works of the historically experimental brushstrokes of paintings by Van Gough, Bonnard and Soutine, to more contemporary artists such as Judith Kerr, David Pearce and Emily Powell. Heather will encourage you to experiment with colour mixing and free brushstrokes to produce your own stunning painting.

There will be an enticing array of flowers, berries and autumnal colours to inspire your work.

Acrylic paints and brushes will be provided. There will also be an opportunity to add oil paints and or pastel to your finished pieces.

There will be canvas boards to buy, or if you would prefer to use a traditional canvas then please bring one along.

Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.
